Get Fresh! Shampoo $5.00 for 1 oz (sample size)
The first thing I noticed about this shampoo was the color..
It's a brown-ish, yellow-ish, green-ish color with a few particles as you can see in the above photo!
It did a good job of preventing my hair from getting oily as I don't like to wash my hair everyday. It didn't lather as much as chemical shampoos, but it still did lather somewhat!
I didn't notice a huge amount of difference when it came to volume, but how much volume can a shampoo really give your hair?
I don't notice a very prominent scent, but the website describes it as "Citrusy and fresh - like a lime soda."
Featherweight Conditioner $5.00 for 1 oz (sample size)
This is supposed to be a light weight conditioner, but it was actually too rich for my hair.
My hair is naturally straight. I don't use heat, bleach, dye or anything of the sort, so my hair isn't especially damaged or dry, and if anything this weighed down my hair.
It would most likely benefit those with coarse, dry, or damaged hair.
It has a lovely vanilla scent!
Sweet Poof Volumizing Spray $16.00 for 4 oz
I have to say I was amazed at how well this worked!
My hair doesn't like to hold a curl or waves. I've tried numerous times to scrunch my hair, but it never turned out looking right.
When I had first received these products I was eager to try them so instead of waiting to shower I dampened my hair, and spritzed this all over. I scrunched my hair like normal for a few minutes...
I looked in the mirror.. and WOAH! It was like a lion's mane of wavy goodness.
Seriously, my hair was big! (Which I loved, maybe some of you aren't into the whole lion mane thing, but I like lions.. and volumized waves for that matter!)
There are only two things about this product that I don't love as much.
One is the scent, described as "Like a cherry candy - very sweet and edible." I pick up on the sweet cherry scent, but also a kind of herbal-ish undertone.
The second is that you definitely do need to use it on wet hair (not just dampened) because it can be a little sticky otherwise.
Mane Tame Weightless Frizz Control $5.00 for 1 oz (sample size)
But what if I like my mane untamed?
Yeah, he gets it.
I wonder if they made this to use after the volumizing spray? Hmm.. what a genius idea!
Intended to be used as a serum on wet hair to tame frizz & add shine before blow drying or other styling, but I like to use it on dry hair.
Just a tiny amount really tames any frizz! I think this would be amazing for those of you with natural curls or waves.
Scent "Woody and citrusy with lime as the dominant note." --That sounds about right to me!
Piece-Nik Matte Styling Paste $5.00 1/2 oz (sample size)
This is awesome for adding volume to your hair!
I like to use it on small sections of hair from the root to about 2 inches down.
It's also great for adding texture to hair, and giving it that "piece-y look."
Scent "A fresh, clean-smelling scent that is earthy and citrusy at the same time."--I get that.
Straight Up Sleek Control $5.00 for 1/2 oz (sample size)
Fantastic for adding moisture, and shine.
As mentioned before, I don't have dry hair, and my hair is naturally straight so I'd probably just use this to help tame fly-aways!
I think this product would be fabulous for making hair even sleeker after straightening if you don't already have naturally straight hair.
Unlike most sleek serum type products this is solid. You warm it with your fingers first and then apply!
Scent "A mature, subtle verison of cinnamon buns or cookies. Sweet and a little spicy." -Exactly! Love the scent.

Overall, for my hair type I would recommend the Get Fresh! Shampoo, Volumizing Spray, and Piece-Nik. The products that will benefit you most all depend on your hair type. I'd suggest trying samples first!

DeleteI'm always on the hunt for good hair volumizing products but I have yet to try some that really work! Glad that this spray works well - I would have loved to see a picture of your hair before and after (:
ReplyDeleteThe spray is great on for damp hair! :) I've tried it on wet, and dry hair, and damp it seems to work best. Just thought I'd add that because I didn't expand on it much in the review.
